Contract Therapist

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor to join our team in providing comprehensive mental health and substance abuse services to both adults and children in Maryland. The successful candidate will deliver individual and group therapy, case management, and crisis intervention services, addressing a wide range of challenges, including mental health disorders, substance abuse, emotional regulation, and social concerns. This role is instrumental in fostering a supportive and therapeutic environment for clients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Assessments: Perform comprehensive evaluations of clients’ mental, emotional, and social needs through interviews, observations, and standardized tools.
  • Develop Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients, families, and other professionals to create tailored treatment plans that address unique needs and goals, particularly focusing on mental health and substance abuse recovery.
  • Provide Therapy: Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions to support clients in managing mental health and substance abuse issues.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to and manage crisis situations, providing immediate interventions to ensure clients’ safety and well-being.
  • Case Management: Coordinate client services, including referrals, advocacy, and follow-up to ensure continuity of care.
  • Community Collaboration: Work with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to support at-risk populations and provide outreach services.
  • Maintain Records: Document all interactions, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and in compliance with legal and ethical standards using the EHR system.
  • Education and Advocacy: Educate clients, families, and the community on mental health and substance abuse issues, and advocate for client needs within various systems.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in mental health and substance abuse treatment through ongoing training and education.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Current licensure as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW/LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience working with adults and children, preferably in a mental health or substance abuse treatment setting.
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in child, adolescent, and adult development.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Proficiency in crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
    • Competence in case management, substance abuse treatment, and electronic documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred or other languages).
  • Training in trauma-informed care and substance abuse treatment.

Working Conditions:
This is a contract position with flexible scheduling. Services may be provided in clinical or telehealth.
